Workshops at Sewell Mills
These one-day workshops are part of an ongoing series, "Bring-a-Dish Painting." We start the day with a pot-luck sharing of food, then paint the subject for the rest of the day. All of these workshops are designed with the novice watercolorist in mind, although experienced painters will also get a lot from the day. These workshops often fill fast, so sign up early to reserve a chair. Contact Sewell Mills Studio, (410) 200-1743 or contact using email for more information or to register for each of these workshops. 50.00 for each one-day workshop. Register early to assure a chair. Please pay for each workshop separately.
Painting a Song Sparrow
January 23rd, 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. We'll paint a realistic study of a Song Sparrow, one of the most interesting LBJ's (Little Brown Jobs) of winter in Maryland. Their attitude and their beautiful markings will come through in this pretty painting. Something for any watercolorist, new or experienced to learn. Paper provided.
Saw-Whet Owl in a Winter Pine
February 27th, 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. The Saw-Whet Owl is just about North America's smallest owl, and can be found in Maryland, especially in the winter. This beautiful little owl has patterned feathers that make for an interesting, easy painting experience. New watercolorists or seasoned painters will lear something new in this workshop. Paper provided.
Golden-Crowned Kinglet in Watercolor
March 12th, 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. Golden Crowned Kinglets have got to be one of the cutest little birds in Maryland. Their tiny golden and orange crowns contrast with their subtle green body feathers and make them not only cute, but beautiful. An easy, interesting watercolor study for everyone. Paper provided.
