Workshops at Sewell Mills
These one-day workshops are part of an ongoing series, "Bring-a-Dish Painting." We start the day with a pot-luck sharing of food, then paint the subject for the rest of the day. All of these workshops are designed with the novice watercolorist in mind, although experienced painters will also get a lot from the day. These workshops fill fast, so sign up early to reserve a chair. Contact Sewell Mills Studio, (410) 200-1743 or contact using email for more information or to register for each of these workshops. 50.00 for each one-day workshop. Register early to assure a chair. Please pay for each workshop separately.
Spring in the Wood: Black Throated Blue Warbler
Saturday, March 15th, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. With spring on the way, painting an often-seen small spring bird could be just the thing to brighten our spirits. This pretty little warbler will give us a chance to work on texture and composition s we paint it on a budding branch. paper provided.
Putting Your Drawings into Perspective: April 26th: 1:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is not a Bring-a-Dish workshop. We'll spend the afternoon looking at how to create the illusion of depth in a drawing. Using mainly pencil, we will expect to look at one, two and three-point linear perspective, as well as atmospheric perspective. It sounds like a lot of information, but we'll make it fun and interesting as we develop our skills at creating drawings that look three-dimensional. Some materials provided.
