Workshops at Sewell Mills
These one-day workshops are part of an ongoing series, "Bring-a-Dish Painting." We start the day with a pot-luck sharing of food, then paint the subject for the rest of the day. All of these workshops are designed with the novice watercolorist in mind, although experienced painters will also get a lot from the day. These workshops fill fast, so sign up early to reserve a chair. Contact Sewell Mills Studio, (410) 200-1743 or contact using email for more information or to register for each of these workshops. 50.00 for each one-day workshop. Register early to assure a chair. Please pay for each workshop separately. Kentucky Warbler
Saturday, June 1st, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. The Kentucky Warbler is one of the most interesting warblers living in Maryland. Living in the understory, Kentuckys yellow, black and green coloration flashes as they move deliberately among the leaves of Spring. We'll paint this beauty on Spring foliage. This particular painting would be good for watercolorists of any level. Paper provided. Horned Lark Saturday, June 22nd, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. The Horned Lark is one of those easy-to-overlook birds that lives along field edges across the Eastern Shore. With it's brilliant facial pattern and dark "horns," it shouldn't be. We'll look at feather patterns, sand and pebbles as we use our drybrush techniques. paper provided. Wood Duck Babies Saturday, July 13th, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. Baby wood ducks, perched on the edge of a nest box will make a lovable picture as we paint these fluffy little guys. We'll look at how to paint the fluffy texture of baby ducks and the weathered look of a duck box in this fun workshop. paper provided. Watercolor Outdoors:
Painting Plein Air in Caroline County A one-day workshop WEDNESDAY, July 10th, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. We will look at how to paint en plein air (outside) in this Wednesday workshop. Painting in the great outdoors with watercolors can be relaxing, and we'll see how as we get together to paint a rural scene near the studio. Really a fun day. Bring a lunch. |
