Workshops at Sewell Mills
These one-day workshops are part of an ongoing series, "Bring-a-Dish Painting." We start the day with a pot-luck sharing of food, then paint the subject for the rest of the day. All of these workshops are designed with the novice watercolorist in mind, although experienced painters will also get a lot from the day. These workshops often fill fast, so sign up early to reserve a chair. Contact Sewell Mills Studio, (410) 200-1743 or contact using email for more information or to register for each of these workshops. 50.00 for each one-day workshop. Register early to assure a chair. Please pay for each workshop separately.
Painting a Summer Gull
June 28th, 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. Summer has almost arrived and a Summer favorite will be the subject of June's watercolor workshop at Sewell Mills Studio. We'll be painting a Laughing Gull. Perched on a wharf-side post, this beautiful bird with the black head will be a study in brilliant blacks, grays and whites. Simple techniques and clean lines will be a great way to develop (or perfect) your watercolor techniques. Paper Provided.
Male Mallard Duck in Watercolor
August 27th, 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. Mallard Ducks are everywhere on the Eastern Shore, and because they are so ubiquitous, we tend to forget how beautiful they are. In this workshop, we'll study how to develop the idea of form as we paint, making sure that our ducks look three-dimensional. Easy for anyone, the concepts we use in this workshop will be useful in may ways for anyone who paints. Paper provided.
