Winter Seedheads and an LBJ
Saturday, January 21st, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. An LBJ is a "Little Brown Job," one of several small species of brown sparrows that show up at feeders in the winter.  We'll use the stark contrast of winter seedheads on brown stalks as a contrast with the white of the paper to create a dramatic study of lines in this fun, fast painting.
Whitetail Deer Portrait
Saturday, February 25th, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm.  We'll look at how to paint hair and add detail quickly as we paint a 16 X 20 portrait of a Winter Whitetail Deer.  We'll learn how to under-paint with wet-in-wet, then layer texture to make super-realistic textures.  While this sounds difficult, it really isn't and this particular painting would be good for watercolorists of any level.  Paper provided.
Quail and an Old Wooden Wheel
Saturday, March 17th, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. Purely judged by size, this is an ambitious workshop.  However, the techniques we will be using will make quick work of most of the painting.  We'll add snow to the scene with a large brush, loosely painted.  We will also look at painting the quail and the wooden wheel with minimal layering.  In the end, our efforts will result in a realistic scene.  paper provided.

Portrait of a Red Tailed Hawk
Saturday, April 21st, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm. Red Tailed hawks are one of mt favorite birds, and their wildness is apparent when you look at the curve of their bill and the shadow over their eye.  In this watercolor we'll capture this wildness as we paint a portrait of this hawk.  An interesting workshop for beginners or more advanced watercolorists.  paper provided.
